The roller coaster of life.
Today I received two emails which took me from very high to very low in a very short space of time.
The first was from a fellow bike rider from Brisbane and was very uplifting.
Hi Steve,
This is a great effort mate and when you come into SE Qld we will be trying to catch up with you. I hope to be able to ride with you for a couple of hours from Brisbane heading north.
Your promotion of depression, and my family, have encouraged me to get help. This has led me to being diagnosed with depression only yesterday. Mild, so the doc says but we are starting a care process after medication starts to work.
Just wanted to say thanks and good luck with the ride. Look forward to meeting you in a couple of weeks.
Cheers
Terry
The second was from someone who had gone out of his way to support what I was doing, a really good bloke, and it left me gutted.
G'day Steve.
I don't know if I will be able to be here when you come to stay.
My Defacto of 13 years died in the early hours of Saturday of a drug overdose.
We are trying to organise the funeral for around the 28th
Tammy had been suffering from depression for years and had only just started seeing someone last Thursday.
We have 4 children 3, 7, 9 and 11 and Tammy loved them with all her heart so I don't think she meant this to happen.
We have a lady that is staying here (Vicki) and helping out, she will be here to look after you.Regards
Max
