1 Dayer 2025

Sunday 16th March

Black Dog Ride's iconic annual 1 Dayer aims to start a national conversation about depression and suicide prevention. Help us get the country talking and join your local Black Dog Ride 1 Dayer!

1 in 5 Australians experience a mental health condition each year. 3 million Australians are living with depression or anxiety. 8 Australians take their lives each day. That's more than 3,000 lives lost to suicide each year. The tragic loss of our loved ones to suicide drives Black Dog Ride to build a community culture of awareness, inclusion and acceptance. Breaking down the barrier of silence encourages our friends, family and colleagues to seek help, because mental illness is just that, an illness. Mental illness can be managed to lead a meaningful, fulfilling life. Fostering awareness is the catalyst for encouraging help seeking behaviour and preventing suicide.

Help Black Dog Ride break down barriers and start conversations, join thousands of riders on 16th March 2025 to kick start a national conversation around suicide prevention.  Register for one of our 2025 local 1 Dayers near you or our Virtual 1 Dayer.

Ride Preparation

It is imperative that riders ensure their bike is registered, roadworthy, and in proper working order, ready for the significant distance ride ahead. It is also imperative that riders and pillion passengers are fit and well enough for the journey. Black Dog Ride does not take responsibility for these matters.

Share the Ride - Connect with fellow riders

Most rides have a Facebook Group to help you connect with fellow riders. Once you have registered for this ride you can go to your ride's Facebook Group and apply for membership.

Please Note: Online ticket sales for this event will close at Stands Up for each ride location. Rider kits will be available for collection at Check In on the day and Virtual ticket holders will receive theirs after the ride by mail.

No More Paper Registrations On The Day

This is to confirm that following last year's 1 Dayer, on-the-day paper registrations are no longer being supported. This has been ratified by the Black Dog Ride Board, at the request of management and is due to ensuring that all rider information is available to management at any time in case of emergency. It is also now part of our standard risk assessments which is required in order to maintain our insurance coverage ongoing.

Our preference this year is to ensure riders register as early as possible, however understand that there is a considerable portion who sign up on the morning. We will be providing links for riders to sign up, and our ticketing provider, 123 Tix, will have live support available on the day, in case you or your volunteers have any issues. You can contact them on (02) 6881 8632.

We trust that you understand our reasoning and we request your support in relaying this information to your volunteers.
